Tony Memory

I never met my Uncle Tony as he passed away 10 years before I was born. He was born to my
grandparents Joe & Gladys Memory, he was their 1st born. Followed by Joey, Steven, Eileen, Barbara &
My Mom Christine... who sadly fell asleep on 1st Jan 2008. I can only write whwt my Mom told me
about her big brother. That he was a kind person who was close to my Mom... his baby sister, she
told me how they used to rub noses together, he used to take care of her. On the day if the accident
Tony was with his girlfriend who was on the back of the bike, his best Friend 'Dickie' with his
girlfriend on the back of his bike. They we're cruising around as you did in the 60's & from what I
have been told got into a crash with a larger vehicle ( bus or lorry). My Uncle died instantly. His
girlfriend was paralised. Dickie survived & I don't know about the other girl. My Mom was having a
wash in the sink when there was a knock at the front door, Nan told her to answer it, it was the
police, Mom shouted to Nan 'the police are at the door'. Nan went to the door & instantly said 'it's
my Tony isn't it'. Call it Mothers intuition, but we all know it was the strong bond of Mom & Child.
The whole family was devastated by the shocking news. Nan & Grandad never really spoke about it,
they went to thier graves grieving for their son. My Mom however did speak about her big brother & I
am so glad she did, because I can write tis tribute in memory of the Uncle I never got to meet. He
did go to soon, but he will be a handsome young man forever. Now Nan & Grandad are no longer with
us.... They are fast asleep along with their first born & their Baby.... My lovely Mom. All three
are waiting in God's Memory above, waiting for a little whisper for them to wake up. They are safe
from anything this world can throw at them. In our memory's & hearts xxxx
